Senior SAD leader Kuldeep Singh Wadala today appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take up with Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif the issue of making the pilgrim visits to Pakistan's Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur visa free.

"Narendra Modi will discuss a host of bilateral issues with the Pakistan's premier on May 27. We urge him to also talk through the issue of making the visits to the shrine, which is only at 3 kilometre distance from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab," the SAD leader said.

"This is a matter of faith of Sikhs," he said, adding that the issue was being raised for years but no government paid attention to it.

Modi, who was today sworn-in as the Prime Minister, will meet his Pakistan counterpart tomorrow and is expected to discuss bilateral issues.
