SBI joins hands with RBITC for midnight marathon in Bangalore

State Bank of India today said it has joined hands with Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor (RBITC) as title sponsor for the current Bengaluru Midnight Marathon.

The annual event, organised by RBITC, will be held during second week of December, 2014 at KTPO (Karnataka Trade Promotion Organisation), Whitefield, RBITC President Rajiv Unnikrishnan told reporters here.

Milkha Singh is the brand ambassador for this marathon, which is the sole midnight marathon in the world and the theme is 'Bhaag Bengaluru Bhaag', he added.

Giving out details about the event SBI Deputy Managing Director Ashwini Mehra said, SBI is not only the largest bank in the country but also a leading name in the banking space for fulfilling its responsibelities as a corporate citizen.
 

He said the bank keeps aside two per cent of its profit for CSR activities. During the last financial year (2013-14) as against the target of Rs 141 crore, bank spent Rs 162 crore under various CSR activities throughout the country.

SBI Bangalore circle spent Rs eight crore under various CSR activities, he added.
