School teacher booked for fraud

A woman school teacher from Kalyan here has been booked on alleged charges of fabricating records and siphoning over Rs 2 lakh, police said today.

The Kolsewadi police from Kalyan east has registered an offence under sections 420, 467 and 468 against associate teacher Sheela Bhagat for the alleged fraud.

However, no arrest has been made in the case so far, they said.

According to police, between August 2003 and March 2016, the accused cooked up and fabricated the service book record in the school to get Pay Commission benefits.

She also prepared a fake letter to the Zilla Parishad Education department and got benefits amounting to Rs 2,06,588 without any recommendations in this regard.
 

The alleged accused had submitted a fake letter purported to have been singed by the head misteress to the effect that her pay scale has been hiked and fixed and she be given the benefits.
