A government high school in Pakistan's restive Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province will be named after the 14-year-old boy who died last week while preventing a suicide attack on his school.

The Government High School Ibrahimzai would be named after Aitzaz Hussain (shaheed), provincial Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said today.

The announcement came after calls had grown across the country to honour the Class IX student from Hangu district of the restive Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

The Chief Minister also announced Rs 5 million compensation for the Hussain's family. He said a stadium will also be constructed on his name to honour him.

Khattak made the announcement after criticising from party chairman Imran Khan on Sunday.

Khan had said that he was deeply disappointed with the provincial government and the Chief Minister for the poor response to Atizaz Hussain's death.
