Odisha Police has put in place elaborate security arrangements in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit tomorrow.
As many as 100 platoons of police force (80 in Cuttack and 20 in Bhubaneswar) will be deployed as a part of the PM's security arrangements.
Modi will address a public meeting at Baji Jatra ground on the banks of river Mahanadi in Cuttack, marking four years of the BJP-led government at the Centre.
"Five teams each of the SAG, STU will also be deployed along with two teams of ODRAF," Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh said.
Four control rooms have been set up to monitor the security arrangements, Singh said.
Special arrangements have also been made for traffic management, and there will be a few diversions on different routes to prevent road congestion.
Meanwhile, a report from Malkangiri said that Maoists have put posters opposing the PM's Odisha visit.
The posters were seen at different places in Kalimela police station area of Malkangiri district, an official said.
Meanwhile, Opposition Congress has decided to stage demonstrations against the BJP government during Modi's visit tomorrow.
