Select base metals slip on subdued demand, global cues

Nickel, tin, select copper and brass prices slipped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockists selling amid subdued demand from industrial users on the back of bearish global cues.

In overseas markets, the industrial metal copper ticked lower in early trade as the dollar recovered, but the industrial metal was trapped in tight ranges as investors wait for more clues on economic conditions in top consumer China.

Nickel and tin fell by Rs 5 per kg each to Rs 1,025 and Rs 1,240 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,245 and Rs 1,030.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap and copper wire bar declined by Rs 3 per kg each to Rs 458, Rs 414 and Rs 478 as against Rs 461, Rs 417 and Rs 481.
 

Copper armiture, copper sheet cutting and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 438, Rs 432 and Rs 327 from Rs 440, Rs 434 and Rs 329, respectively.

Copper scrap heavy and brass utensils scrap edged-down by a Re per kg each to Rs 454 and Rs 318.
