Select pulses soar on uptick in demand

Prices of urad and arhar climbed up to Rs 300 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today backed by pick up in demand against tight stocks position on restricted supplies.

Traders said besides uptick in demand, paucity of stocks on restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up urar and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local spurted by Rs 300 each to Rs 10,700-12,200 and Rs 11,000-11,100 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 11,100-11,600 and Rs 11,500-11,800 per quintal respectively.
 

Arhar and its dal dara variety went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 9,100 and Rs 11,900-13,600 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small and bold also gained Rs 100 each to Rs 6,050-6,350 and Rs 6,100-6,400 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by the same margin to Rs 6,600-7,100 and Rs 6,700-7,200 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality followed suit and moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,100-7,400 and Rs 7,200-7,500 per quintal.

In line with general trend, gram, gramdal local and best quality were up by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,000-7,500, Rs 7,300-7,600 and Rs 7,700-7,800 per quintal respectively. Besin Shaktibhog and Rajdhani quoted higher at Rs 3,150 each instead of Rs 3,120 per 35 kg bag.

Masoor small Rs 6,050-6,350, bold Rs 6,100-6,400, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,600-7,100, best quality Rs 6,700-7,200, Malka local Rs 7,100-7,400, best Rs 7,200-7,500, Moth Rs 5,500-5,900, Arhar Rs 9,100, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 11,900-13,600.

Gram Rs 7,000-7,500, Gram dal (local) Rs 7,300-7,600, best quality Rs 7,700-7,800, Besan (35 kg), Shakti Bhog Rs 3,150,Rajdhani Rs 3,150, Rajma Chitra Rs 5,600-6,850, Kabuli Gram small Rs 8,000-9,300, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 5,400-5,600, Peas white Rs 3,400-3,425 and green Rs 3,600-3,700.
