Prices of copper and zinc fell by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on the back of a weak trend overseas amid subdued demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market.
Traders said besides weak trend overseas after the UK's decision to exit the European Union saw investors exit assets linked to economic growth, easing demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market mainly kept pressure on copper and zinc prices.
Meanwhile, copper for three-month delivery fell 1.7 per cent to USD 4,698 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc ingot drifted lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 368 and Rs 92-98 per kg respectively.
