Senior journalist Sharad Shinde passes away

Senior journalist Sharad Shinde passed away here today after a brief illness, his family said.

He was 52 and leaves behind his wife.

The mortal remains of Sharad were consigned to flames at a local crematorium, where his nephew Rahul lit the funeral pyre, the journalist's elder brother, Ashok Shinde, said.

Sharad worked with several city-based media houses in the last 20 years.

Local mediapersons condoled Sharad's death.
