Seven fall unconscious after taking sweets

Six children and a woman were admitted to a hospital as they became unconscious after allegedly taking sweets from some strangers at Duka in Kalimpong sub-division, police said today.

The children within the age group of 2 to 12 and a woman were admitted to the Kalimpong sub-division hospital in unconscious condition yesterday, police officials said.

The relatives of the patients complained that all fell unconscious after they ate sweets given to them by four strangers in the village, they said.

All the seven have regained consciousness, but they were suffering from occasional vomiting and other complications, a hospital official said.
