Veteran actor Shabana Azmi today welcomed the Supreme Court's verdict banning the practice of instant divorce among Muslims.
Azmi said the judgement was a victory for the women who have been fighting against it for years.
"I welcome the Supreme Court judgement on instant Triple Talaq. Its a victory for brave Muslim women who have waged battle against it for years," Azmi tweeted.
Actor Anupam Kher said the decision of triple talaq is for the win of women empowerment.
Dia Mirza called the decision a "win for democracy".
