The Justice M B Shah Commission, which is probing illegal mining in Odisha, is scheduled to start its next hearing at Ahmedabad from March 14.

This was stated by Justice Shah before leaving Odisha today after a five-day hearing here of mine lessees.

"We will conduct hearing on alleged violation of Rule 37 under Mineral Concession Rule, 1960 on March 14 and 16," Justice Shah said.

The Commission would again hear certain mine lessees at Ahmedabad on April 2, 3 and 4.

During its five-day hearing here, the Commission heard the cases of about 180 mine lessees.

The Commission also set up a panel to start field verification of certain mines area as the lessees objected to the state government's Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) map.
