ExxonMobil's shareholders voted decisively today to direct the oil giant to address more aggressive climate change policies, handing a victory to environmentalists at a critical moment in US environmental politics.
The proposal to compel Exxon to analyze its portfolio next to more aggressive climate policies consistent with the Paris climate accord won with 62.3 per cent of the vote. The result came as President Donald Trump weighs whether to exit the Paris agreement.
