Shobha Rani takes oath as MLA

Newly-elected BJP MLA Shobha Rani today took oath in the Rajasthan legislative assembly.

Speaker Kailash Meghwal administered oath to Rani who won the April 9 Dholpur by-election by defeating Congress's Banwari Lal Sharma.

As she stepped into the Assembly main building, she bowed, with her hands touching the stairs, to register her high respect for it.

The Dholpur seat went to bypoll after it got vacant as Rani's husband B L Kushwah was convicted in a murder case and his membership of the Assembly was terminated.
