Shweta Singh appointed SP Women's Wing president

Uttar Pradesh Commission for Women member Shweta Singh was today appointed the state president of ruling Samajwadi Party's Women's Wing.

The decision was taken by Chief Minister and SP state president Akhilesh Yadav.

"Party state president Akhilesh Yadav has removed Geeta Singh as state president of SP Mahila Sabha and appointed Shweta Singh as the new president," a release issued here said.

Shweta will replace Geeta, who was appointed to the post in July 2014.

No reasons have been cited for the change.
