Sikkim Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling has written to his Assam counterpart Tarun Gogoi today, expressing "deep" concern over the alleged hardships being faced by Gorkha community in Bodoland.
Chamling's letter follows the report of the fact finding committee of Sikkim Press Club, which had send four of its members in the affected areas and submitted details of the alleged plight of the Gorkha community there.
Appreciating the steps taken by Assam in restoring and maintaining law and order in the affected areas, Chamling said the hardship and difficulties faced by the Gorkha community, who are bonafide Indian citizens, in Bodoland Territorial Administration (BTA) area need to be addressed.
