Silver up by 0.5% in futures trade on global cues

Speculators created fresh positions amid firm global trend

Silver prices went up by 0.54% to Rs 33,604 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions amid firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September month rose by Rs 181 or 0.54% to Rs 33,604 per kg in business turnover of 2,419 lots.

Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month December gained Rs 180 or 0.53% to Rs 34,363 per kg in 396 lots.

Market analysts said speculative positions built up by participants on the back of better trend, mainly influenced silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver was tad higher at $14.14 an ounce in Singapore.
