Press Trust of India Kochi
: It was not just another day for residents of the Home for the Destitute at nearby Thevara, but a momentous occasion filled with music and solace.

Noted singer and violinist K R Roopa sang soulful melodies from old Malayalam movies for them, and it turned out a day which they would remember for ever.

Roopa was at the home for the elderly as part of the Arts and Medicine project being organised by the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) in association with the Mehboob Memorial Orchestra.

"Music brings solace to mind, body and soul and the Arts and Medicine project is an initiative that effectively utilises the healing power of music for the benefit of people. We are extremely delighted to be associated with the Biennale Foundation for such a noble endeavour," said Sister Devotia of the Home for the Destitute.

'It is an honour for me to be able to sing for the grandmas and grandpas here and share some valuable time with them. I especially thank the Biennale Foundation for organising such an event," said Roopa.
