Six arrested for thefts on trains

The Government Railway Police today arrested six members of an inter-state gang which targeted train passengers and recovered 200 gms of gold jewellery worth around Rs 6 lakh.

Inspector G Koteswara Rao identified the arrested gang members as Bablu Kumar (28), Santhosh Kumar (26), Ajay Kumar (32), Amit Kumar (27), Hirash (19) and Amar Kumar (32), all natives of Bihar.

The gang, which stole luggage of sleeper coach passengers, had committed five offences in Andhra Pradesh, including three under Vizag GRP limits, Rao said. Police were looking for another member of the gang, he added.
