Six new cases of swine flu in Kolkata: WBHS Director

Six new cases of swine flu were reported in West Bengal in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of infected cases in the state to 42, a senior health official said today.

There was no report of any death in the last 24 hours, West Bengal Health Services Director Biswaranjan Satpathy said.

"Six persons have tested positive for the virus, including a pregnant woman. Nobody is critical," he said.

There were, however, no reports of anybody getting infected with the H1N1 virus from the districts, Satpathy said adding, "There is nothing to panic. We are quite alert and the government is ready to face any situation."
 

Since January, two deaths have been reported from the state due to the disease.
