Chief Minister Sarbananada Sonowal termed the first full-fledged budget of his BJP-led Government in Assam as pro-people, which will benefit all sections of society with a special emphasis on women, children and differently-abled people.
Giving his reactions on the budget for 2017-18 presented in the Assembly today, Sonowal said the budget with a special emphasis on 18 key initiatives will propel growth and development and with no additional burden of taxes on the people it will benefit people from all walks of life.
Sonowal also thanked Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for preparing a budget in synergy with the Sustainable Development Goals of the Government and giving a thrust to the spirit of 'Team Assam'.
