South Australian government is considering setting up an international centre of excellence in water resources management in collaboration with the Rajasthan government to share and exchange knowledge and expertise on water issues.
"We are looking for collaborating arrangements with the state of Rajasthan. Discussions are progressing rapidly we are looking for setting up an International centre of excellence in collaboration with the state," Karlene Maywald, South Australian Government's Special Advisor on International Water Opportunities, told PTI here.
She said that the proposal was presented to the state government last year by South Australia and both the sides are rapidly working in this direction.
She said that the proposed facility, which will be the first in India, would be similar to that of the Centre which is presently working in Australia.
