SP candidate booked for violating model code of conduct

Sitting MLA and SP candidate for Gauriganj Assembly seat Rakesh Pratap Singh was today booked on the charge of violating the model code of conduct.

Taking cognisance of a video circulating in the social media purportedly showing Singh threatening people to vote for him police registered a case against him, SHO of Gauriganj Police Station, R K Shahi, said.

Singh was not available for comments.
