DMK working president M K Stalin today said he has been invited to attend the United Nations Human Rights Council' session in Geneva next month, but was yet to decide on participation.
"Got an invite. Yet to decide (on participating in it), I will let you know after taking a call," he told reporters when asked if he will attend the UN meet scheduled to be held from June 6 in Geneva.
Stalin, however, did not state for which speficic discussion he had been invited.
On August 12, 2012, a Tamil Eelam Supporters Organisation conference led by DMK chief and TESO chairperson M Karunanidhi here had sought equal rights for the Sri Lankan Tamils.
Following that, Stalin and then DMK Parliamentary party leader T R Baalu had submitted the TESO resolutions to UNHRC authorities in Geneva.
A resolution adopted at the TESO meet had said that UN's intervention would help Tamils determine their rights besides ensuring their livelihood in the island nation.
The meet had also urged the Centre to intervene in the issue at the UN forum.
