Steel prices go steady in thin trade

The wholesale steel market remained flat today as prices continued to move in a tight range on lack of any worthwhile activity from construction units and settled around previous levels.

Traders said lack of worthwhile activity from construction units due to adverse weather conditions mainly kept prices unchanged.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per tonne):

Saria Kamdhenu: 8-mm Rs 46,100, 10-mm Rs 45,600, 12-mm Rs 43,200, 16-25 mm Rs 43,900.

Amba Shakti (TMT): 8-mm Rs 45,700, 10-mm Rs 43,400, 12-mm, Rs 42,400, 16-25 mm Rs 42,500.

MS Angle: (50x5) (50x6) Rs 42,000, (40x5) (40x6) Rs 42,800.

Angle Capital (ISI) (40X5) (40x6) Rs 44,100, (35X5)(65X6) Rs 44,600. Girder (125X65) Rs 41,000.
