Steel prices hold steady in thin trade

Steel prices remained steady in the market today, settling at previous levels in the absence of any buying support.

Traders said lack of any worthwhile activity from construction units mainly kept steel prices unchanged.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per tonne):

Saria Kamdhenu: 8-mm Rs 46,100, 10-mm Rs 45,600, 12-mm Rs 43,200, 16-25 mm Rs 43,900.

Amba Shakti (TMT): 8-mm Rs 45,700, 10-mm Rs 43,400, 12-mm, Rs 42,400, 16-25 mm Rs 42,500.

MS Angle: (50x5) (50x6) Rs 42,000, (40x5) (40x6) Rs 42,800.
