The indefinite strike by a section of powerloom job workers of Coimbatore and Tirupur districts entered the fifth day today.
The job workers, running about 1.4 lakh powerloom units in these districts, stopped production from January 7, seeking immediate roll back of the 15 per cent hike in the power tariff or treat it as subsidy to the industry, resulting in a production loss worth Rs.20 crore per day.
A few representatives from the industry are expected to meet the State electricity Minister tomorrow at Chennai on the issue, representatives of job workers associaton said.
