Student crushed under train while trying to retrieve phone

A student of class XII was today crushed under a passenger train while trying to retrieve his mobile phone from railway tracks at Exhibition railway crossing here.

Vishal Singh was crossing the railway tracks on a bicycle at Exhibition railway crossing here this morning when his mobile phone fell on the tracks, Bulandshahr railway station superintendent Maqbool Khan said.

The deceased, unmindful of approaching Khurja-Meerut passenger train, tried to pick his cell phone and was crushed under its wheels, he said.

He was rushed to a nearby Government hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.
