Sugar futures traded lower by 0.18 per cent to Rs 3,330 per quintal in futures trade today as traders booked profits at prevailing levels.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, sugar for delivery in May eased by Rs 6, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 3,330 per quintal with an open interest of 42,200 lots.
Similarly, the sweetener for delivery in July traded lower by Rs 4, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 3,522 per quintal in 44,550 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in sweetener prices at futures trade to profit-booking by participants at existing levels.
