Sugar prices down on higher supply

Sugar plunged by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today after millers accelerated supplies at improved levels amid slackened demand.

Marketmen attributed fall in sugar prices to pickup in supplies against slowing demand from bulk consumers as well as retailers.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices plummeted by Rs 100 each to close at Rs 2,410-2,660 and Rs 2,400-2,650 per quintal.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 2,650-2,830 and Rs 2,640-2,820 per quintal.

In millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Anupshaher dropped by Rs 100 each at Rs 2,520 and Rs 2,420 per quintal.
 

Prices of Ramala, Baghpat, Nazibabad and Morna dropped by Rs 90 each at Rs 2,430, Rs 2,440, Rs 2,420 and Rs 2,440 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 27.00-32.00 per kg.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,650-2,830 S-30 Rs 2,640-2,820.

Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,410-2,660 S-30 Rs 2,400-2,650.

Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 2,590, Kinnoni Rs 2,660, Asmoli Rs 2,630, Dorala Rs 2,570, Budhana Rs 2,560, Thanabhavan Rs 2,550, Dhanora Rs 2,520, Simbholi Rs 2,650, Khatuli Rs 2,650, Dhampur 2,520, Ramala Rs 2,430, Bulandshaher Rs 2,480, Anupshaher Rs 2,420, Baghpat Rs 2,440, Morna Rs 2,440, Sakoti Rs 2,460, Chandpur Rs 2,480, Nazibabad Rs 2,420 and Malakpur 2,520.
