Sugar prices firmed up by Rs 110 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today on stockists buying, mostly supported by summer season demand from bulk consumers amid selling by millers at higher levels.
Marketmen said besides brisk buying by stockists to meet rising demand from bulk consumers, particularly soft-drink and ice-cream makers, selling at higher rates by sugar mills, attributed rise in the sweetner prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices jumped up by Rs 100 each to finish at Rs 3,350-3,450 and Rs 3,330-3,530 per quitnal respectively.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also ended higher at Rs.3,130-3,330 and Rs.3,110-3,310 from Rs 3,120-3,275 and Rs 3,100-3,255 per quintal.
In millgate section, sugar Budhana, Thanabhavan, Modi Nagar and Dhampur surged by Rs 80 each to conclude at Rs 3240, Rs 3230, Rs 3,240 and Rs 3,210 per quintal.
Sugar Mawana climbed by Rs.75 at Rs.3,240, Bulandshar and Dhanora by Rs.70 each at Rs.3,210 and 3,230 per quintal.
Prices of Kinnoni, Dorala, Sakoti and Chandpur also edged up to Rs 60 per quintal at Rs 3,330, Rs 3,240, Rs 3,190 and Rs 3,190 per quintal.
