Suspected Maoists abduct engineer

An engineer was abducted by suspected Maoists near Bundu, about 55 km from Ranchi, police said today.

Engineer Pankaj Kumar was supervising the construction of a bridge at Sumandi village under Bundu police station of Ranchi district when suspected rebels took him away last night, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhimsen Tuti said.

Police have launched raids to locate the engineer, he added.
