The State Vigilance Commission has detected alleged embezzlement in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid Day Meal Schemes in J&K and directed SSP Crime Branch Srinagar to register a formal case against teachers involved in case.
"SVC has directed SSP Crime Branch Srinagar, for registration of formal case against teachers involved in misappropriation of funds under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid Day Meal Schemes", a SVC spokesman said.
While taking serious note of a complaint lodged against some teachers posted at Middle School Ahgam Rajwar Handwara, regarding misappropriation of funds and misuse of official position, Chief Education Officer, Kupwara on the directions of the SVC had appointed District Education Planning Officer Kupwara as Enquiry Officer to look into the allegations levelled therein, the spokesman said.

The report submitted by the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara alongwith the report of District Education Planning Officer, Kupwara to the SVC, prima-facie established charges of huge embezzlement in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mid Day Meal Schemes against the teachers and the head teacher working in the years 2011-12 and 2012-13 in Middle School Ahgam Rajwar, Handwara.
SSP Crime Branch Srinagar has been directed to register a formal case against all those involved and take up investigation.
