The Telangana government would take tough action against private hospital managements if they are found to have performed cesarean operations unnecessarily, state health minister C Laxma Reddy said here today.
Saying that allegations have surfaced about some private hospitals in the state are performing cesarean operations without justification, he said the government would not hesitate to "seize" such hospitals.
A hospital in Mahabubnagar district has been seized in one such instance, Reddy added.
He was speaking after unveiling an app for health personnel.
