TAFE chief to receive honorary doctorate at TNAU convocation

Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd (TAFE) chairperson and CEO Mallika Srinivasan will be conferred honorary degree of Doctor of Science at the convocation of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University to be held here on September 9.

A total of 1,360 students would receive their degrees at the 38th annual convocation to presided over by Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, who is Chancellor of the university.

State agriculture minister R Doraikkannu would announce new endowment prizes and medals.

South Asia Biotechnology Centre president Dr C D Mayee would be the chief guest and deliver the convocation address, a TNAU release said.

Besides 1,360 candidates in person, 649 students would be awarded degrees in absentia, the release said.
