Tawde, others take oath of Maha Legislative Council

BJP leader Vinod Tawde who had been re-elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council last, today took oath as the member of the Upper House.

"Tawde is likely to be entrusted the duty of Leader of the Opposition in the House, as BJP has more numbers than alliance partner Shiv Sena," sources said.

Veteran Congress leader and incumbent chairman of the House Shivajirao Deshmukh, Shiv Sena's Dr Neelam Gorhe, Pandurang Phundkar (BJP), Haribhau Rathod, Anand Thakur both (Congress) and NCP's Hemant Takle and Kiran Pawaskar also took oath today.
