In an act of revenge, a tea seller was allegedly murdered by a gang of six persons, who attacked the former after his brother passed information about the criminal activity of one of them to MIDC police.
The victim's brother works as a police informer. Two others were injured in this attack, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Wasiulla Shaikh alias Rasgulla (41), while police informer Abdul Shaikh (35) and Shamsuddin Shaikh were injured in the attack, police said.

The incident took place yesterday afternoon at a scrap godown in Subhashnagar, Andheri MIDC when the accused persons called Shaikh and his brother to meet.
The accused got to know that Abdul Shaikh had passed an information to the police that one of their aide was involved in a crime in Nashik.
As Abdul went to meet them with brother Wasiulla and friend Shamsuddin, the accused attacked the trio with steel and pipe, police said.
Wasiulla sustained deep injuries on head, shoulder and legs, whereas Abdul and Shamsuddin suffered injuries on stomach and face, said police.
After attack all the accused fled away from the spot.
"Complainant and accused persons know each other as they all are from same village. We have registered an offence of murder against the six accused," Shailesh Pasalwad, senior police inspector of MIDC Police Station said.
