Teacher gets 10-year jail term for abducting, raping minor

A teacher was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a fast track court here today for abducting and raping a minor girl student.
Judge Punam Rajput also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000 on Sompal, who was held guilty under sections 363 (punishment for kidnapping), 366 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage, etc.) 376 (punishment for rape) of IPC, government lawyer Ritu Choudhry said.
In December 2007, the 15-year-old girl was abducted and raped by her teacher Sompal when she had gone to school in Tigri village of the district. Later, she was recovered from his possession.
