Telangana girls in Subroto Cup quarterfinals

State Sports Hostel team from the newly-formed state of Telangana defeated Saupin School Chandigarh 3-1 in Group F to enter the Under-17 Girls quarterfinals in the 55th Subroto Cup football tournament at the NWC ground here today.

Tripura Sports Hostel too made it to the quarterfinals after beating Defence College from Colombo 3-0 in Group H.

The other team that made it to the last eight stage was Charity School (Nagaland) which thrashed Fountainhead School from Gujarat 6-0.

In the two quarterfinals to be played on Monday, Telangana will take on an Assam school while Tripura will clash with Nagaland.
 

Meanwhile, the showpiece event of the Subroto Cup, boy's U-17 tournament, gets underway from tomorrow.
