Telugu film director Sai Rajesh alias Steven Shankar was allegedly assaulted by a man at a hotel here, police said today.
The director of the recently-released 'Hrudaya Kaleyam' was hit on his nose by one Manoj Krishna last night at the hotel in Madhapur area here following an argument between the two, they said.
Manoj, who was allegedly in an drunken state, pushed Steven Shankar after the two reportedly argued over the film, police said.
A case has been registered against Manoj and he was taken into custody, they added.
Sampoornesh Babu, the actor of the film was also at the hotel when the incident occurred, police said, adding that further investigations were on.
