Temperatures soar across Pb & Hry

In a relief to the people from prolonged cold weather conditions, temperature at most places across Punjab and Haryana rose by up to five notches today.
Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 13.8 deg C, five notches above normal, a MeT report said.
In Haryana, Ambala also recorded an increase in its minimum, which settled at 12.5 deg C, up four degrees. Hisar's low of 11.9 deg C was two notches above normal.

Karnal (12.5 C), Bhiwani (12 C) and Narnaul (10.5 C) also recorded above normal minimum temperatures.
Ludhiana in Punjab registered a low of 11.3 deg C, up two degrees, while Patiala's minimum settled at 13.2 deg C, four above normal.
However, Amritsar continued to brave cold weather recording a low of 5 deg C, down two notches.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature yesterday also witnessed an increase at most places settling between 23-25 degrees Celsius as against 19-21 degrees until a few days back.
The MeT has forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers may occur at a few places in the two states today and mainly dry weather has been predicted from Monday onwards.
