Thieves decamp with 28.5 sovereigns of gold

Thieves broke into the house of a Bank manager near here and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 28.5 sovereigns, police today said.

The manager of Indian Bank's Periyaseerakapadi branch in the district, Alfred Asir, had gone to Kerala when the burglary took place.

A case has been registered.
