'The Newsroom' actor Thomas Sadoski will play the lead role opposite Colin Hanks and Betsy Brandt in 'Life in Pieces', an upcoming single-camera comedy pilot.
The project is about one family, the Shorts, as told through the separate stories of its different family members, reported Deadline.
Sadoski, 38, plays middle sibling Matt Short who cannot catch a break, the most recent being a failed career that has forced him back home with his parents.
Hanks, 37, and Brandt, 41, play the other two siblings, with Dianne Wiest as the trio's mother.
Also cast in the pilot, written by Justin Adler, is Angelique Cabral. The 36-year-old actress plays Colleen, the woman Matt has just fallen in love with while she is stuck in a messy break-up with her ex-fiance.
