International developmental organisations, scientists, policy makers and farmers from various states will take part in a three-day consultation on pulses to be organised by M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) from August 7 here.
"Pulses are a topic of current interest, not just because of the concern over rising prices and India's efforts towards self-sustaining but also in the context of malnutrition as pulses are an important source of protein," MSSRF said in a statement.
2016 has been designated by the UN as International Year of Pulses for long-term solutions towards protein security in the world.
