Three killed of lightning in Madhya Pradesh

Three members of a family were killed when lightning struck them while they were working on their agriculture field near here, police said today.

The incident took place last night in which Balchandra Ahirwar (45), his son Sandeep Ahirwar (18) and nephew Sunil Ahirwar - all residents of Kishorepur village were killed on the spot, Nivari police station Inspector R S Chauhan said.

When the deceased did not return home in the evening, their family members started a search and found them in the agriculture field, the officer said.

The bodies have been handed over to the family after postmortem and investigations are underway, police added.
