Three Krishna Pushakaram devotees killed in mishap

Three devotees, including a woman, who were returning after attending the Krishna Pushakaram festival in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh were killed while four others injured, when their vehicle rammed into a stationary mini-lorry at Mallavaram, 20 km from here early today.

The accident occurred when a family of seven members hailing from Madanapalli, were on their way home after taking a holy dip in Krishna river as part of the Pushakaram festival in Vijayawada, police here said.

The speeding vehicle hit a stationary vehicle on the rear side resulting in the death of three on the spot and injuring four others, he said.
 

The condition of the injured, admitted to a government hospital here, is said to be out of danger, the police said.
