Delhi Police has arrested three persons, including two businessmen, in connection with the alleged abduction of a 11-year-old boy in Patel Nagar.

The accused have been identified as Amandeep Singh Kohli (23) from Karol Bagh, Chetan Sharma (31) from Sharlimar Bagh and Gyandeep alias Sumit (28) from Samaipur Badli.

Late evening on March 21, the son of a businessman in East Patel Nagar area was kidnapped from near his residence. The abductors later demanded ransom money from the family, said Ashok Mallik, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central district.

The family reported the matter to police following which several teams were constituted to rescue the child and nab the culprits.

"With pressure mounting on the kidnappers, they released the child and left him near the same place without taking the ransom money," Mallik said.

While Chetan and Gyandeep were arrested from Delhi, Kohli was apprehended from a train at Vadodara Railway Station with the help of Vadodara police.

Investigations have revealed that Amandeep and Chetan were heavily in debt so they hatched the plot of kidnapping and also roped in other accused, police said.
