Three members of a family died in mysterious circumstances and two others were taken ill at Taridih in Bhojpur district, an official said today.
While Bhanu Chandra (50) and his son Niraj Kumar (22) died in their house last night, Bhanu's wife Manju Devi died on way to the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), Block Development Officer Virendra Kumar Singh said.
Bhanu's two daughters Kanchan and Jyoti also took ill and were undergoing treatment at the PMCH, he said.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of the death, he said and quoted the villagers as saying that the family members ate fish and took liquor in the night.
A probe was on in the incident, the BDO said.
