Three of a family dies of burns

In an tragic incident, a 35-year old woman committed suicide by burning herself after setting her four children too on fire in Punganur 50 km from here today, police said.

Her two girl children also succumbed to burns, police said.

Jharina Begum in a fit of rage after a quarrel with husband doused herself and four children including two daughters, aged between 14 and 6 years, with kerosene and set ablaze herself and her kids, police said.

After hearing cries of them, the neighbours rushed to the spot and shifted them to a nearby government hospital where the mother and her two daughters aged 14 and 6 breathed their last.
 

A 10-year-old son, who had 40 per cent burns was battling for life and another son who sustained burns on his hands was recovering, police said.
