Three students drown in river canal

Three students drowned in a canal of the Sarada river near Thummapala village here today, police said.

The victims identified as K V Amarnath (19), T Dviraj (19) and P Murali (18) were swept away in the canal where they had gone for a swim, police said.

The trio had come to Thummapala to attend a function at a friend's place.

Later, their bodies were fished out and sent for post mortem, police added.
